How to Book Student Accommodation in Dundee with Hub Students
At Hub Students Dundee, we’ve made the booking process as straightforward as possible so students can secure their accommodation quickly and prepare for university life with confidence.
Whether you’re booking your first student room or returning for another academic year, this guide explains each stage of the process from choosing your room to moving into your accommodation.
Our Guide
Step 1: Choose Your Room
The first step is selecting the room type that best suits your lifestyle and budget.
At Hub Students Dundee, students can choose from a range of ensuite room options, including:
- Standard Ensuite Rooms
- Double Ensuite Rooms
- Large Double Ensuite Rooms
All rooms include:
- Private ensuite bathroom
- Furnished accommodation
- Dedicated study area
- High speed Wi Fi
- Access to communal facilities
Step 2: Complete Your Booking Application
Once you’ve selected your preferred room, you’ll complete the online booking application.
Students may be asked to provide:
- Personal details
- University information
- Course details
- Emergency contact information
- Guarantor details where required
Students booking individually may also answer questions about living preferences to help us match suitable flatmates.
Step 3: Review and Sign Your Tenancy Agreement
Before your booking is confirmed, students must review and sign their tenancy agreement.
The tenancy agreement outlines important information regarding:
- Rent payments
- Tenancy dates
- Accommodation rules
- Student responsibilities
- Moving in and moving out procedures
Students should read the agreement carefully before signing, as the contract becomes legally binding once completed.
Step 4: Arrange Your Payment
To secure accommodation, students will be required to complete the relevant payment arrangements.
Advanced Rent Payment
Hub Students Dundee does not require a traditional deposit.
Instead, students make an Advanced Rent Payment which:
- Secures the room
- Confirms the booking
- Contributes towards the first rent instalment
This payment is not an additional fee and is deducted from the student’s rent balance.
Step 5: Provide Guarantor Information
Students using an instalment plan must provide a qualified UK guarantor during the booking process.
The guarantor agrees to support the tenancy agreement if rent payments are missed during the tenancy period.
International students without a UK guarantor may be able to arrange alternative payment options by speaking with the accommodation team.
Step 6: Prepare for Move In Day
Once your booking is complete, you’ll receive information about arrival and moving into your accommodation.
Before Arrival Students Must
- Complete all tenancy documents
- Make the required first payment
- Arrange arrival details
- Provide suitable identification
- Confirm move in times where required
The handbook also advises students to contact the accommodation team in advance if arriving outside normal office hours.
Collecting Your Keys
Students will receive information regarding key collection before arrival.
Suitable identification may be required when collecting accommodation keys.
Checking Into Your Room
When students move into their accommodation, they will be encouraged to review their room carefully and report any issues as early as possible.
The handbook also references inventory checks during the move in process to help ensure accommodation is in good condition at the start of the tenancy.
